Parks and Recreation

Milan Parks & Recreation offers a wide range of programs, activities and special events throughout the year. New program brochures are available each year in January, May & September. Contact the Parks & Rec. office at anytime for a list of programs offered or stop by our new on line registration website.


Milan Parks

Middle School
4 acre park on S. Platt Rd. north of Redman Rd. (behind Milan Middle School). Facilities include tennis courts and softball diamond.

Nature Park
11 acre park on S. Platt Rd. south of Main Street. Facilities include: softball diamond, soccer field, picnic area (shelter, tables and grills), playground area and horseshoe pits.

Sanford Road Park
139 acre park on Sanford Road between E. Arkona and Milan-Oakville Roads. Facilities include: Radio-Controlled Model Airplane Flying Field, Horse Show Arena, Jogging Trail and Pheasant Habitat/Sanctuary.

Softball Park
9 acre park on Gump Lake Dr. south of Main Street featuring adult softball diamonds and walk/bike path.

Wilson Park
35 acre park on Wabash St. south of Main St. featuring a picnic area (shelter, tables and grills), playground & tot-lot area, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, walk/bike path and softball & baseball fields.

Senior and Community Activity Center
The Senior & Community Activity Center offers area residents the opportunity to rent the Great Room. The Great Room is located in the right wing of the facility adjacent to a beautiful brick terraced seating area. Wall windows on the north side of the room make for a splendid view of the park and river. A special place to have wedding receptions, dances, baby showers or meetings!

Scholarship Program
The Milan Parks and Recreation Department seeks to provide recreational activities for all individuals. Those families demonstrating financial need may contact the department regarding our scholarship program, funded by Washtenaw County United Way and underwritten by the Milan Community Council, enabling all persons an equal chance to participate in our programs regardless of family income.
