On the tax front, we have a new program we are initiating—the automatic tax payment system. With this system you can enroll with the City Clerk/Treasurer’s Office to have your summer and/or winter tax bill payments electronically withdrawn from the bank account of your choice at any bank or credit union.
For summer property tax bills the electronic withdrawal request will be sent during the last week of August of each tax year to ensure the payment will be posted on time. For the winter property tax bills, you will have a choice on the withdrawal date—1.) the last week of December of each tax year or 2.) the first week of February of each tax year.
The forms to enroll in the automatic tax payment system are available at the clerk/treasurer’s office or are downloadable on the City’s website, Just complete the enrollment form, sign, date and return to the Clerk/Treasurer’s Office. Once you are enrolled in the program it will be in effect until written notice is received directing otherwise.
